Time out but no Goodbye

Yes, it is true, it is too silent on this blog.
Due to our distance in space we have to take a break until Barrow and I are together again in the real world. We have some things to workout and to sort out, but we'll be back.
Please stay with us. Thanks, Aicha

Update

At the moment we are experiencing some minor logistic problems, with one partner in the Gambia and the other one in the Netherlands, it is sometimes difficult to get things going. Don''t worry, everything will be alright. Just need a little time to get things right.

We are happy to show you the Barrow Bag labels. Look how beautiful they are.

The nearby future_ stay with us

We are now gonna work on a stock-in-trade, this might take a while since the bags are very much labour-intensive. Now that we have seen how our initinal thoughts are becoming really beautiful Barrow Bags, we go on with our plans and we will try to find ways to distribute the bags. We hope you will stay with us till then!

More Barrow Bags

After Moussa showed us the first Barrow Bags, we asked him to go on with the good work he is doing for us. Barrow picked more empty waterbags from the ground and together Barrow and Aicha cleaned and prepared them to bring to Moussa again.
The bags are each unique because they are handmade. The cloth that Moussa uses for the lining are leftovers. The Barrow Bag on the right has a lining made from the leftover of a weddingdress, which makes this a very personal bag and a nice souvenir to a romantic day.

Where the Barrow Bags are made

Here at Moussá you see how young boys get a training on the job.
It is really amazing what they do with these sewingmachines.

How the waterbags are used

The beginning II

First we started to fantasize on the idea of what we could do with the waterbags that are all over the streets. Later we came to the golden idea of the beautiful Barrow Bags. After drawing a basic design  barrow started collecting the waterbags, and later washed them and dried them.
Then we went to Moussa the taylor, to ask him to make us a nice prototype. Maybe tonight he will come and show it to us. We can hardly wait to see them.
